Avvaiyar, Economics and Hip-Hop

Long time no post, thought i can chip in with some random thoughts!

Had a very quite b'day, quite unusual from the ones that occured in last 4-5 years. One of my friends had mailed me like this:
" You have become older, but have you become wiser? "
I had no answer for that! Every day, when i read stuff/meet people/hear news, i come to know that there is so much in this world that i dont know. This reminds me of the saying by a tamil poet(Avvaiyar??), "Katradhu Kaimman alavu, kalladhadhu ulagalavu". Anyway, i will try my best to learn new things, visit new places, meet new people and eat different food :)

After 150 pages of ZATMM gyan, i thought it is better to put that book to rest for sometime. So i started with Free Lunch- Easily Digestible Economics by David Smith. Quite interesting, very tasty i should say ;) It serves economics for dummies on that topic, just like me. I always had a bad opinion about that subject, probably because of my experience with that subject at School. During my class 9 and 10, we used to have Economics as part of Social Studies, where we were asked (rather forced?) to read some 100 odd questions for the exams. Anyways, this book is all about the theories of Adam Smith, Malthus, Miller and Marx. I now understand terms like GDP, inflation, market fluctuation etc better !! Now i know what that chic in NDTV Profit talks about ;)

I am still waiting for my bounty, will publish more about that once it arrives !

Btw, try listening to this band called Flipsyde, their style of music is a mixture of hip-hop, latino, and alternative rock !
