I am sure by now you would have received emails about this lecture or seen youtube "favorited" videos of this "Last Lecture". Anyway, for those of you who haven't heard anything about this, Randy Pausch is a Professor from CMU, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer, which is kinda incurable. Some weeks back, he gave a lecture on "Really achieving your Childhood dreams" to an audience in CMU. In this talk, which is dedicated to his family, Randy describes how he lived his life and his thoughts on how to achive your dreams. This is one of the best talks i have heard so far! You can find the video of the talk here or the entire transcript here. All through this lecture, you can find so much of energy and optimism, there was not even a slightest indication of the pain he is going through. I strongly recommend everyone to watch the video or read the transcript, i am sure it would give you a different perspective towards life!
Some key quotes from the talk:
Brick walls are there for a reason: they let us prove how badly we want things
Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted
Don’t complain; just work harder
Find the best in everybody; no matter how long you have to wait for them to show it
Thank you Randy for your work and great words of wisdom!
